Prescription Underground will be celebrating the birthday of esteemed Mr. Robert Williams, founder of both the Warehouse and Muzic Box in Chicago back in the 70s which helped to propel the underground music culture into what it is today, both of which were platforms launched the careers of legendary DJs Frankie Knuckles and Ron Hardy respectively. This event is in conjunction with the Frankie Knuckles Foundation, with music provided by Ron Trent, Lee Collins and Duane Powell.
We also have a very special guest Nicky Siano from the iconic NYC clubs: Studio 54 and the Gallery, the latter of which was one of the clubs that Mr. Williams used to attend before his move to Chicago. As the owner and resident DJ of the Gallery, Nicky Siano was responsible for mentoring Larry Levan and Frankie Knuckles as staff at the Gallery, both of whom who went on to become pioneers in their own right: Larry Levan at the Paradise Garage in NYC; and Frankie Knuckles following Robert Williams to the Warehouse in Chicago. We are honored and delighted as this will be the first time ever that Nicky Siano is playing for Mr. Williams, both being peers of the same era whose musical vision influenced many generations.
